Renault Clio RS 2012, new philosophy: it will be automatic and five-door turbo

After our first look at newly introduced Renault Clio 2012, it was time to go a little further and think of its most desired sports and Renaultsport seal. It is no secret, and yet those in charge of confirming the mouth of the brand itself has been the boys of the British magazine EVO, we say that what they tell about the future then Renault Clio RS was more than expected.

The new generation Renault Clio Renaultsport come with many new features, but we will focus specifically on the three most important, enough to change to some extent the philosophy of this small sporty but not detract from its predecessor. Atmospheric engine had a smaller displacement turbo. The manual six-speed pass one “automatic”. And the three doors, the only option above, we turn to a five-door as the new Renault Clio currently only ship with rear doors.

A turbocharged Renaultsport and dual-clutch
Nobody will be scared or scandalized by the pass-aspirated engine and a turbocharged 1.6-liter only. The most important reason is the efficiency and consumption, but their power not less than 200 hp. Furthermore supercharged engines more “kick” from below and a more practical rpm in all conditions have been imposed almost as a standard and not just for those demanding sports performance, as is the case.

That option is not even available a manual, can be a major handicap for any speed lover who is interested in a Renault Clio RS. Failing that there will be a dual-clutch transmission that seems like one of the most sports, if not more, and effective on the market right now. Recall that the Renault Clio released for the first time a change of this nature and will TCe engine with 120 hp to be introduced in the first half of 2013.

Even more controversial is the fact that the Renault Clio RS will not have a body of three doors, only five, as the next generation Renault Clio 2012 has chosen to ignore this body to opt for a more dynamic five-door thanks to a sleek design and own a coupe, rear doors and paths suitably camouflaged, leads us to conclude that Renault has a three-door place.

The Renault Clio RS will have to compete, among others, the new Peugeot 208 GTI and Ford Fiesta ST. Will Renault be the reference of the SUV?
