Peugeot 508 Hybrid4, distance runner with 3.6 litres/100 km

With the launch of the new Peugeot 508 already pointed out that one of the mechanics that would complete the range would be a diesel hybrid uses minimal for performance, on the other hand are quite interesting due to the mechanical Hybrid4. The premiere of this technology in the range 508 took place recently with a familiar-looking model camper about which I spoke in the proof of Peugeot 508 RXH. Since June this will do the same with the launch of the Peugeot 508 Hybrid4, a new model that aims to combine the mechanical efficiency of a hybrid, with a strong diesel engine, without sacrificing too much space and comfort of a saloon.

The Peugeot 508 Hybrid4 is equipped with diesel mechanics the PSA group, ie a 2.0 HDi diesel engine of 163 horsepower backed by a 37 hp electric motor that acts directly on the rear axle, a total of 200 hp combined . So far not been realized performance, but Peugeot is expected to make a hole model predominant in Europe in the channel of renters and businesses, encouraged mainly by tax incentives that can get approved with emissions below 100 g / km of CO2 (ie 95 g / km CO2). Its use is approved just 3.6 litres/100 kilometers, which under ideal conditions (for approval in the combined cycle) would offer 2,000 km of autonomy with a single refueling.

An added value for both the Peugeot 508 Hybrid respect their fellow-wheel drive is the unusual provision that provides motor, in addition to the pure electric drive modes, Auto (Normal) and Sport 4WD (AWD forced).

peugeot-508-rxh-37-dmPeugeot 508 with a puncture repair kit, ie, without replacement, has a trunk of 560 liters. The installation of the mechanical and electrical batteries on the rear axle boot slightly sacrificed in the case of the Peugeot 508 Hybrid4 has a useful volume of 355 liters. Its modularity is preserved with a folding rear bench seat into two pieces (1/3 and 2/3) to build a space up to 1,400 liters up to roof.

It was not revealed if the setting of the suspension has been modified to accommodate the extra weight of the mechanical hybrid, which otherwise would be logical, but the architecture of pseudo McPherson front and rear multi-link remains intact.

According to Peugeot have managed 1,600 bookings in the Netherlands, Spain still unknown price. For reference we think that will probably be between € 35,150 Peugeot 508 GT’s 2.2 HDI 200 hp Auto and € 41,500 the Peugeot 508 RXH, a margin too loose, but with which we can go get the idea until we know the prices definitive.
