New engine 2.0 D3 136 hp for Volvo S60, V60, V70 and S80

Volvo has restructured its entire range of engines from the S60 launch two years ago, and the range grows a little more now with the launch of a new intermediate turbodiesel. D3 is called 2.0 and is an engine atypical has five cylinders, like their more powerful brethren in range. Volvo has reduced its five-cylinder blocks veterans – more than proven robustness – even the 2.0-liter and technology gave rejuvenated. The new D3 is the least powerful of the five online, develops 136 hp.

Unlike his brother D4 163 hp 2.0, which develops no less than 400 Nm of torque, in the D3 that figure is reduced to 350 Nm, which is still a very high figure for a medium power motor. The engine is mounted in the Volvo S60 and S80, as well as their familiar versions, Volvo V60 and V70. In saloons emit only 114 g / km carbon dioxide, whereas in the same figure is familiar on 119 g / km. They are average consumption of around 4.5 l/100 km.

The entire range turbodiesel four vehicles – except the 215 hp D5 – emits carbon dioxide at a rate less than 120 g / km, which I think is a record number of vehicle size and performance. The 2.0 D3 136 hp – which fits between the 1.6 D2 115 hp and 163 hp 2.0 D4 – is offered with manual gearboxes and automatic six relationships and is associated with a Stop & Start system. The five cylinders are extended to more models of the Volvo range for sure.
